Client challenge
The Murray–Darling Basin Authority needed to finalise its conveyance loss project by turning complex modelling into a clear, public-facing explanation. They also required an assessment of the current socialisation policy, comparison of alternative policy options, and advice that responded to ACCC and Water Market Reform Roadmap concerns about third-party impacts from trade.
Yvette’s Solution
Yvette reviewed and distilled the technical modelling into a plain-English summary and developed intuitive visuals to explain results. She evaluated the existing policy, identified and assessed alternative options using a structured framework, and facilitated engagement with the Trade Working Group to test assumptions and refine recommendations. She then produced a concise, accessible report ready for publication. You can view the report here Understanding Conveyance Losses from Trade.
Customer Benefit
MDBA received a clear, trusted explanation of conveyance losses and a robust assessment of policy options. The final report strengthened transparency, improved stakeholder confidence, and equipped decision-makers with evidence-based recommendations for managing trade-related conveyance losses.
